The Vancouver Whitecaps announced a contract extension for Andres Cubas on Tuesday.
The Paraguay midfielder is now contracted through the 2027-2028 season.
Cubas, 29, is in his fifth season with the club, having joined from Ligue 2 side Nimes. He made 35 appearances across all competitions in 2025.
“Andrés embodies everything we value in our group,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said in a statement. “He is driven, relentless in his work ethic, and a true leader in our locker room, setting the standard for our younger players. On the pitch, he has been integral to our success and ranks among the very best in the league at his position. We are delighted that Andrés has committed to the club and look forward to continuing to support him and his family here in Vancouver.”
Born in Argentina, Cubas is a product of the Boca Juniors academy and made his senior debut in 2014. Since joining the Whitecaps, Cubas has made 97 league appearances.
Internationally, Cubas has been capped 32 times by Paraguay since his senior debut in 2019. Cubas is eligible to play for Los Guaraníes through his father.
