Jesse Marsch has made three changes to the starting XI for Canada’s first-ever Round of 16 match against Morocco.
Niko Sigur draws into the starting lineup for the first time this World Cup, replacing Nathan Saliba in the midfield and playing alongside Round of 32 hero Stephen Eustáquio.
Eustáquio will once again wear the captain’s armband in the absence of Alphonso Davies, who is available for selection off the bench after making his debut in the Round of 32.
Ali Ahmed returns to the starting lineup by replacing Liam Millar, as does Luc de Fougerolles on the back end, who enters for Derek Cornelius, who is out of the starting lineup with a muscle injury.
For the first time, the 20-year-old de Fougerolles will play alongside Moise Bombito at centre back, who makes his second straight start.
The winner of Saturday’s match advances to a quarterfinal match in Foxborough against the winner of today’s other Round of 16 matchup between France and Paraguay in Philadelphia.
