There was no change in the training plan for injured Team Canada players Moise Bombito, Ralph Priso and Alphonso Davies on Tuesday.
Bombito remained in modified training, which are tailored to recovery with some supervised participation in team drills.
Priso, who is not currently part of Canada’s World Cup roster, and Davies remained in the return-to-play protocol. Their focus was on running and less intense drills as both continue to nurse hamstring injuries.
Priso is a leading candidate to replace Bombito should the defender be ruled out of the tournament, though his health is also in question.
It was reported on Saturday that the squad was getting set to replace Bombito on its 26-player roster after the team determined the centre back’s surgically repaired tibia is not healthy enough for him to compete.
However, head coach Jesse Marsch said Sunday he will give Bombito “up until the last minute” to show he can be ready at any point in the tournament.
Bombito broke his leg last October and returned to play 30 minutes in a friendly against Uzbekistan before limping off the field.
Canada has until June 11 at 3 p.m. ET - 24 hours prior to its opening World Cup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina - to draw a replacement from the team’s provisional 55-player roster, if Bombito does not show the form Marsch is looking for.
Earlier on Tuesday, Canada named Jayden Nelson to their roster as the injury replacement for Marcelo Flores, who tore his ACL one day after being named to the team.
Bombito is one of a long list of players coming into the tournament off of injuries for the Canadian team, along with Jacob Shaffelburg (hamstring), Ali Ahmed (hamstring), Alfie Jones (ankle) and Davies.
Ahmed, Shaffelburg and Jones have been full participants in practice this week.
