The Montreal Impact announced on Friday that midfielder Jeisson Vargas has gone a season-long loan to Chilean Primera Division side Universidad Catolica.
Joining the Impact last season from Serie A side Bologna, Vargas appeared in 19 league matches for the club last season, scoring four times.
This will be Vargas's third stint with the club. Vargas, 21, made his professional debut for the club in 2014 and spent the first three seasons of his career there before signing with Bologna in 2016. The native of Recoleta, Chile was immediately loaned out to Argentine giants Estudientes in 2016 and then back to Universidad Catolica in 2017.
The Impact open their 2019 on March 2 with a visit to San Jose Earthquakes.
