Report: Madrid finalizing deal to add Diomande from Leipzig

Published:

Real Madrid is closing in on a deal to add RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande for over €100 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The deal is worth over $160 million in Canadian dollars. The deal will run through June of 2031.

Romano reports the 19-year-old will fly to Madrid this week for medical tests and to make the signing official.

Diomande played for Côte d’Ivoire during the 2026 FIFA World Cup as Les Éléphants reached the Round of 32, ultimately falling to Norway. Diomande had an assist in their 2-0 win in the group-stage finale on June 25.

He starred for Leipzig last season in the Bundesliga, tallying 12 goals and eight assists in 28 games.

Diomande played at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla., as recently as 2024 and joined Spanish side CD Leganés in January of 2025. He was then purchased by Leipzig ahead of last season and now joins one of the biggest clubs in the world.
