Canadian national team defender Moise Bombito is set to undergo surgery to address persistent pain from a previous tibia fracture, OGC Nice announced Wednesday.
Bombito broke his leg last October and prior to that he dealt with a stress fracture in the same leg.
The 26-year-old native of Montreal returned from the broken leg with Canada at the World Cup, featuring three times including two starts. Bombito entered as a substitute in the group round against Qatar and started the country’s knockout round games against South Africa and Morocco.
Bombito made the move to Nice from the Colorado Rapids of the MLS in 2024 but was limited to just two games last year after appearing in 35 games in his first season with the team.
