The Reds are coming off a 0-0 draw to CF Montreal in their return to play. Toronto FC were outshot 15-7 but managed to snap a four-match losing streak.
Canadian men’s national team members Richie Laryea and Jonathan Osorio are both members of Toronto FC’s roster. Laryea has two goals and two assists in 10 starts with Toronto FC in 2026. Osorio has three assists in 14 starts with the club this season.
On Wednesday morning, Toronto FC announced a deal to sign midfielder Niklas Dorsch from Germany’s Heidenheim. Dorsch has four goals and three assists over 118 Bundesliga games with Heidenheim, Augsburg, and Bayern Munich.
New England goalkeeper Matt Turner made one appearance for the United States in the World Cup. He allowed three goals in a 3-2 loss to Türkiye during the group stage.
Turner has 60 saves in 14 starts with New England in 2026. The Revolution have only surrendered 18 goals in 14 matches.
Los Angeles FC vs. Real Salt Lake
Los Angeles FC’s roster includes two members of the Canadian men’s national team in midfielder Mathieu Choiniere and forward Jacob Shaffelburg.
Shaffelburg’s cross attempt against South Africa in the Round of 32 set up Stephen Eustaquio’s game-winning goal.
Eustaquio spent six months with LAFC on a loan from his parent club FC Porto in preparation for the World Cup. Eustaquio will now return to Porto FC.

LAFC rank third in the Western Conference with an 8-5-3 record. Real Salt Lake are directly behind them in fourth with an 8-4-2 record.
The two teams played twice in a four-day span in 2025. LAFC beat Real Salt Lake 4-1 in both matches.
Real Salt Lake has a had a stronger season in 2026. They have a plus-7 goal differential in 14 matches with 26 goals for and 19 goals against.
Real Salt Lake went 3-1-1- leading into the World Cup break, but they are 1-3-2 on the road this season.
