STRASBOURG — Victoria Mboko and Gabriela Dabrowski provided Canada with mixed results Saturday at the Strasbourg International tennis tournament.

Mboko, 19, of Mississauga, Ont., dropped a 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 decision to American Emily Navarro in the singles final. But Dabrowski, of Ottawa, and Brazilian partner Luisa Stefani dispatched Norway’s Ulrikke Eikeri and American Quinn Gleason 7-5, 6-4 to secure their second doubles crown of the season.

The top-seeded Mboko fired four aces but also had five double faults in her quest for a third WTA title. Navarro had no aces and four double faults in the match but registered seven breaks in 21 opportunities.

Mboko had three breaks in 10 chances but Navarro won 10 services games, compared to six for the Canadian.

Mboko doesn’t have time to worry about the loss. She begins her second French Open with a first-round match Sunday against Czechia’s Nikola Bartunkova.

It will be Mboko’s fourth match in as many days.

Meanwhile in doubles action, the top-seeded Dabrowski, and Stefani converted five-of-seven break opportunities while their opponents had three breaks in five chances. The victors had an ace and double fault while Eikeri and Gleason combined for two aces and five double faults in the match.
