According to multiple reports, Serena Williams is in discussions about a potential return to competitive tennis in doubles at the HSBC Championship at the Queen’s Club next month.
Sports Illustrated’s Jon Wertheim adds that Williams is looking to take the court at the Wimbledon warmup with Canadian Vicky Mboko.
Williams was ruled eligible to return in February, six months after registering with the International Tennis Integrity Agency.
The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion last played at the 2022 U.S. Open, though she has avoided using the word “retired” throughout her absence.
Williams will turn 45 in September.
