The first single from DMX’s posthumous album, Exodus, was released on Tuesday. The track, “Hood Blues,” features the Griselda rappers Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher and Conway the Machine.
The track begins with a verse from each of the Griselda rappers, who are based out of upstate New York and stylistically lean towards the 1990s New York-era rap that was pioneered by rappers including DMX.
Warning: Explicit language follows.
Exodus releases on Friday, May 28, with a tracklist of 13 songs and features from Bono, JAY Z, Nas and more. It will be DMX’s first release since 2003’s Grand Champ.
DMX died on April 9 at the age of 50 following a heart attack.
