Clark (back) out against Fire

Published:

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark announced on Thursday night that she will not return for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season. Clark has not suited up since July 15 due to a right groin injury and has only appeared in 13 games this season.

Caitlin Clark was a late scratch against the Portland Fire on Wednesday night.

The Indiana Fever All-Star guard is dealing with a back injury.

Clark, 24, had appeared in all four of the team’s games this season. She was averaging 24.3 points on .425 shooting with 9.0 assists and 5.0 boards over 30.8 minutes a game.

The first overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Iowa, Clark appeared in just 13 games last season with a groin injury.

Clark is the only player to appear on the team’s injury list.

The Fever (2-2) are coming off of an 89-79 victory over the Seattle Storm on Sunday.
