The Toronto Tempo have made their first trade in team history.

The Tempo announced Wednesday evening that they have acquired the 26th pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft from the Chicago Sky in exchange for passing on Chicago’s unprotected list in Friday’s expansion draft.

This gives Toronto picks No. six, 22, 26 and 36 in the April 13 draft as they aim to build out their roster.

The Sky also completed a similar trade with the expansion Portland Fire on Wednesday, acquiring the 21st pick in this year’s draft and assurance the Fire would not pick from the Sky’s unprotected list in exchange for the No. 17 pick.

The Tempo and Fire will each begin play this season as the league’s two newest expansion teams. Toronto will play their first regular-season game on Friday, May 8 against the Washington Mystics.
