Tempo waive three guards following loss in first WNBA pre-season game

TORONTO — The Toronto Tempo waived guards Dara Mabrey, Maddison Rocci and Kristy Wallace on Thursday after the team’s first WNBA pre-season game.

All three were on training camp deals and appeared in the expansion club’s 83-78 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Rocci had 11 points and three assists in 14 minutes, while Wallace added five points and three assists.

Mabrey recorded three rebounds and one assist.

The cuts came ahead of the Tempo’s final pre-season game Friday against the Minnesota Lynx.

Toronto opens its inaugural season May 8 at home against the Washington Mystics.
