Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey scored 53 points on Thursday night to tie the WNBA’s single-game scoring record.

Mabrey equalled the mark jointly held by A’ja Wilson and Liz Cambage.

The 29-year-old shot 17-for-28 from the field and 50 per cent from three as she converted nine of 18 attempts.

She played 32:01 minutes overall, leaving the game in the final minute of the game to an ovation from the home crowd.

Cambage originally set the record in 2018 as a member of the Dallas Wings against the New York Liberty.

Wilson added her name to the record book in 2023 with the Las Vegas Aces vs. the Atlanta Dream.

The Tempo defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 125-97.

The 125 points scored by the Tempo are the most in a regulation game in league history.
