If you’ve been following BarDown for a while, you know that we LOVE a good road trip. As a matter of fact, there is CURRENTLY a BarDown road trip happening – but we can’t tell you where we went just yet.
What we CAN tell you about was our incredible trip to Michigan. And when I say incredible, that’s in a retrospective light, because it certainly didn’t feel incredible the whole time. In fact, at times it felt outright dangerous.
If that doesn’t hook you, I don’t know what will.
Yes, on the way to Michigan we unfortunately hit a deer that ran onto the road. It totalled the car, and sent us into an absolute whirlwind of “what do we do.” Suddenly we were surrounded by emergency vehicles as the weather was worsening, and the sky was getting darker.
BUT we made it!
From then on, it was such a fun time. It included seeing all the sites Muskegon had to offer – the WW2 era submarine was nothing short of badass – while also checking out the Muskegon Lumberjacks incredible facilities.

While the deer incident was shocking (and sad… sorry Mr. Deer), we can definitely say that Muskegon and the Lumberjacks were fantastic hosts for us. Special thanks to all those involved in making it happen!
