I’m not the guy to complain about a 162-game season – especially not while FanDuel celebrates MLB Futures Day.

But when the Los Angeles Dodgers are challenging for a modern-day dynasty with a payroll larger than some countries’ GDPs, I’d prefer to skip right to the part when we find out whether any team can beat them in October.
For the fifth time in six years, the Dodgers enter the MLB season as the World Series favourite at FanDuel.

At +210, Los Angeles is the largest pre-season World Series favourite since the 2003 New York Yankees (+200).No other team is shorter than 10-to-1 to win it all.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers finished with 111 wins in 2022, 100 in 2023, 98 in 2024, then 93 in 2025.
However, that four-year decline wasn’t enough to keep FanDuel from giving Los Angeles the highest regular-season win total in baseball at 103.5.

It’s 13 wins higher than the Yankees and New York Mets, which is tied for the largest gap at the top since 1990.
While they might not break the MLB record with 117 or more regular-season wins, the Dodgers are -700 to win the NL West and +115 to win the National League.
L.A. is so stacked that it seems inevitable they will return to the playoffs to defend their crown as the team to beat once October eventually rolls around.

While their chalk price hasn’t stopped the public from betting on a three-peat, the Dodgers aren’t the most popular pick to win the World Series at FanDuel.
That distinction belongs to Canada’s team.
Let’s dive into the numbers and lock in a FanDuel Best Bet for the 2026 MLB season in this Morning Coffee column for Monday March 23, 2026.
Blue Jays the most popular pick to win World Series At FanDuel
The 2025 Toronto Blue Jays nearly pulled off a miracle.
The Blue Jays were 65-to-1 to win the World Series on Opening Day and climbed as high as 100-to-1 to win it all at FanDuel prior to one of the most remarkable playoff runs Toronto sports fans have ever witnessed.
Will that team ultimately be remembered as a one-hit wonder that fell just short in a heartbreaking David-versus-Goliath World Series battle with the Dodgers?

Per the FanDuel traders, the public is betting against it.
The Blue Jays are the most popular pick to win the World Series at FanDuel.
While L.A. is +210 to three-peat, Toronto has hovered around 19-to-1 odds to win the World Series at FanDuel in recent weeks.
That 19-to-1 price tag was enough to convince the public to roll the dice on a team that improved on paper after taking the Dodgers the distance in the 2025 World Series.

Per their trading team, 15 per cent of all bets on the World Series winner have been on Toronto at FanDuel.
Twelve per cent of the World Series winner bets are on LA.
The Yankees at 10-to-1 are the third-most popular pick to win it all with seven per cent of the bets at FanDuel.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are also a popular bet to repeat as American League East division champions at FanDuel.
The Yankees are +175 as the favourite to win the division, followed by the Boston Red Sox at +270.

Toronto is +310 to repeat as AL East champs.
While the rival Yankees and Red Sox have shorter odds, 36 per cent of the bets on FanDuel’s AL East Winner market are on the Blue Jays, compared to 22 per cent on Boston and only 16 per cent on New York.

To celebrate FanDuel MLB Futures Day, we decided to ask TSN Baseball Insider Steve Phillips and former All-Star pitcher Ricky Romero if they think there is value betting Toronto to win the AL East and World Series.

As for my favourite MLB futures bet for the 2026 season, I’ll lock in LA to stay under 103.5 regular-season wins.
The Dodgers are the two-time defending World Series champions and the favourite to three-peat.
However, they’ve hit the century mark only once over the past three seasons.

From 111 wins in 2022 to 100 wins in 2023, 98 in 2024, then 93 in 2025, LA’s regular season win total has declined three years in a row.
While I’d bank on a better record than 93-69, I’m willing to bet against the Dodgers getting to 104 wins.
So people are doubting the organization that has won back-to-back championships. People are doubting the organization that is elite at roster management. I'd rather see Hyeseong Kim get an opportunity when he has the best chance to thrive. They know exactly what they're doing. https://t.co/9kaZc1RXoe
— Doug McKain (@DMAC_LA) March 23, 2026
Remember, this team is talented enough to treat the regular season like an extended 162-game pre-season, with the understanding that all that matters is whether they can peak when it counts in October.
Give me the Dodgers under 103.5 regular-season wins as my FanDuel Best Bet for MLB Futures Day.
I’ll also roll the dice on the Blue Jays to win the AL pennant at +700 – longer odds than the Yankees, Seattle Mariners, and even the Red Sox.

A lot can change between now and October, but Toronto has improved on paper, so I like the potential value here.
With MLB Opening Night just over 48 hours away, is there another FanDuel futures bet I should consider locking in?
Hit me up @Domenic_Padula on X and let me know.
