FanDuel’s MLB Futures Day 2026 is in the books.
In case you missed it, our MLB Season Preview Show powered by FanDuel is worth the watch.
A huge shout out to Tekeyah Singh, Ricky Romero, and Steve Phillips for getting us ready for baseball season.
Now that we’ve locked in our baseball futures, all we must to do now is wait another 222 days to find out how many of them will cash.
As I wrote in Monday’s column, I’m not going to complain about a 162-game MLB regular season.
The Toronto Blue Jays are the most popular bet to win the World Series at FanDuel.
I’m sure it will be worth the wait if they somehow find a way to bring a championship to Toronto.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the pre-season World Series favourite for the fifth time in six years.
The fact that the Dodgers are +210 to win the World Series at a time when no other team is shorter than +1000 to win it all tells you all you need to know about what FanDuel thinks about LA’s chances to three-peat.
While baseball fans get set for MLB Opening Night on Wednesday, hockey fans are ready for the final sprint to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In the Western Conference, four teams are within five points of the Nashville Predators for the final Wild Card.
In the Eastern Conference, nine teams are separated by seven points from fourth through 12th overall.
The Ottawa Senators picked up two important points in last night’s win over the New York Rangers but continue to get hard by injuries on their blue line.
Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season over the New York Islanders on Saturday night.
Mr. Saturday Night Cole Caufield scored a hat-trick and registered five points in the victory.
Tonight, they’ll host the Carolina Hurricanes in another tough test with major implications in the East race.
Will Caufield stay hot against the visiting Hurricanes?
Let’s revisit Caufield’s odds to win the Rocket Richard Trophy and lock in a couple of FanDuel Best Bets in this Morning Coffee column for Tuesday March 24th, 2026.
Can Caufield Catch MacKinnon For The Rocket Richard Trophy?
The Montreal Canadiens to make the playoffs at +156 was among my favourite futures for the NHL season.
With 13 games remaining, the Canadiens are -450 to make and +360 to miss the playoffs at FanDuel.
If anybody tailed me and wants off the Habs postseason train, you could still lock in a guaranteed profit with a bet on Monday to miss the playoffs at +360.
Speaking of the playoff train, the fact that we can parlay teams to make or miss the postseason is interesting.
The Ottawa Senators are currently even-money to miss the playoffs at FanDuel.
The Detroit Red Wings are +120, the New York Islanders are +155, the Boston Bruins are +165, the Columbus Blue Jackets are +230, and the Pittsburgh Penguins are +350 to miss the playoffs.
At least two of the seven teams I’ve highlighted are expected to miss the playoffs.
If you can correctly predict which two will miss out, you can lock in a considerable profit with a two-team parlay.
As for tonight’s games, I have my eye on two players that have helped lift their teams into playoff spots.
Caufield was 75-to-1 to win the Rocket Richard Trophy at FanDuel when the season started.
After a hat-trick in Saturday’s win over the Islanders, Caufield is just two goals back of Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL lead and +250 to win the Rocket Richard Trophy.
That number translates to a 28.6 per cent implied chance that Caufield will win the Rocket.
As for tonight, Caufield’s anytime goal prop is +150.
With the Habs desperate for points against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, their top line of Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky should see plenty of ice time against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
Caufield has 22 goals in 35 games at home this season.
He also scored on one of his three shots on goal in Montreal’s previous meeting against Carolina.
With six goals in his previous five games, Caufield is on fire heading into the final playoff push.
He’s averaged a goal per game over his last 11 contests.
I’ll bank on the hot streak to continue tonight and lock in Caufield anytime goal at +150.
Speaking of hot goal scorers, Cutter Gauthier is tied with Caufield and Nikita Kucherov for the NHL lead with 11 goals in 14 games since the Olympic break.
The 22-year-old Gauthier is up to 36 goals in 69 games.
Gauthier’s hot streak has the Anaheim Ducks sitting atop the Pacific Division standings with 12 games remaining.
Anaheim can pick up some crucial points tonight against the visiting Vancouver Canucks.
The Canucks rank dead-last in the NHL with an average of 3.92 goals allowed per game since the Olympic break.
I’ll jump back on Gauthier anytime goal at +140 tonight.
Hopefully, he can stay hot and help the Ducks take an important step towards locking up first place in the Pacific Division.
Is there another bet for tonight’s NHL slate that I should consider at FanDuel?
Hit me up @Domenic_Padula on X and let me know.
In the meantime, I’m rolling with Caufield and Gauthier anytime goal for tonight’s games.
Have a great day, everyone!
