The annual Jersey Day at my kids’ elementary school is supposed to be a celebration of sports.

In our house, it’s basically the one day of the year that my wife and I debate what the kids will wear.

It’s also the only day on the calendar that I can justify having 100+ jerseys spread throughout the property.

The upstairs closet, the downstairs closet, the basement office, the garage, the cantina.

Go find the jersey you like, kids!

It’s like training camp for April’s Easter egg hunt.

This morning, my eldest made me proud by grabbing the vintage 2001 Tom Brady Super Bowl jersey.

It’s identical to the version I have framed in my basement office, minus the autograph – thanks again for the epic wedding gift, Ange!

We offered up Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors jerseys to my youngest, but neither suggested bet was more appealing than the vintage silver Reebok New Jersey Nets Jason Kidd jersey she found in the closet.

We invested a lot of thought into our suggestions.

It turns out we overlooked the obvious easy read with the sparkling, shiny silver jersey that reads, “KIDD” on the back of it.

The perfect fit for the kid who couldn’t care less about who my favourite point guard was in seventh grade.

With another Jersey Day selection locked in, it’s time to turn my attention to Thursday Night Football.

The Buffalo Bills have won three of four, but at 7-4 they’re still looking up at the New England Patriots with three more stops before the highly anticipated Week 15 rematch against their AFC East rival.

Josh Allen is coming off his best performance of the year.

It makes sense that Bills Mafia was well represented with several Allen jerseys when I dropped the kids off.

The reigning NFL regular season MVP is among the top choices to win that award at FanDuel again this season.

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans have also won three of four to climb back into the AFC playoff picture at 5-5.

The Texans are set to begin a brutal stretch with tonight’s contest against the Bills prior to road trips for games against the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs.

Can Davis Mills lead Houston to an upset win over Buffalo to remain in the hunt for an AFC Wild Card spot?

Let’s dive into the match-up and lock in a FanDuel Best Bet for tonight’s primetime showdown in this Morning Coffee column for Thursday November 20th, 2025.

Will Josh Allen Hit Another NFL Milestone on Thursday Night Football?

The last time we saw Allen in action on Sunday, he delivered another remarkable performance with six total touchdowns in a win over the Buccaneers.

Allen threw three touchdown passes and ran for three scores in the same game for the second time in his career.

His two games with three TD passes and three TD runs in his last 18 games played are more than every other QB in NFL history combined.

Meanwhile, the Texans have found a way to win games without their franchise quarterback.

Mills has started and won the previous two games over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.

C.J. Stroud has been ruled out for Thursday Night Football with a concussion.

That means Mills will get a shot to improve to 3-0 this season against his toughest opponent to date.

Houston is 0-4 straight up with fewer than five days of rest over the last five seasons.

On the flip side, Buffalo is 5-0 in those situations.

Josh Allen is coming off his best performance of the season in Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With a perennial MVP candidate at quarterback, it’s much easier to prepare for games on short rest.

Allen’s ability to improvise was on display again versus the Buccaneers, as he took off six times for 40 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

He’s averaged 35.1 rushing yards and 1.0 rushing score per game this season.

Allen has also rushed for seven touchdowns over Buffalo’s previous four games.

Allen needs one more rushing score to pass Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns all-time by a QB.

Meanwhile, the Houston defence has not allowed a single rushing touchdown by a quarterback this season.

I can’t wait to see the Texans try to stop Allen from breaking the record in their building tonight.

Meanwhile, the Houston defence has allowed just 171.0 passing yards per game this season – the third-best mark in the NFL.

However, the Texans have struggled to slow down opposing quarterbacks on the ground, giving up a league-worst 10.7 rushing yards per attempt on scrambles.

Two weeks ago, Trevor Lawrence rushed for 35 yards on five attempts against Houston.

On Sunday, Cam Ward took off three times for 33 yards.

The Bills’ wide receiver core is extremely banged up and now they face a tough pass defence on a short week.

I’ll bank on Allen to make some plays with his legs tonight and lock in 33 or more rushing yards as a FanDuel Best Bet.

I also played Allen anytime TD at -115 hoping that he can break the record tonight in Houston.

As for the Houston offence, Mills will get another start in place of Stroud but I’m looking at their rookie running back Woody Marks to be the focal point of their offence.

The Bills have allowed the second-most rushing yards to opposing running backs this season.

The Texans don’t want to get into a situation where they must force Mills to throw the football playing from behind, and the best way to keep Allen from going off is to limit his opportunities with the football.

My friends at FantasyPoints project Marks for 16.8 carries and 66.2 rushing yards.

With Nico Collins dealing with an ankle injury and the Buffalo defence much better suited to slow down the pass than the run, Marks should be heavily involved again.

I played Marks over 63.5 rushing yards at FanDuel.

With Houston focused on running the ball on offence and limiting big plays through the air on defence, we could be in line for another low scoring affair in prime time.

I’ll jump on the game total under 43.5 as another FanDuel Best Bet for Thursday Night Football.

Hopefully, we can sweep the board to begin Week 12 in the NFL.

Enjoy the game, everyone!
