NFL Sunday Week 2 was a disaster for quarterbacks.
Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams were both sidelined by injuries in ugly losses.
Aaron Rodgers nearly joined that list in a loss of his own.
Baker Mayfield was forced to wait more than two hours before a loss to his former team could be sealed.
Then there’s Justin Herbert, who is in a class of his own when it comes to the most disappointing QBs this season.
Herbert, who was +1100 to win NFL regular season MVP as the third choice on the board behind Josh Allen and Joe Burrow at FanDuel entering Week 1, fumbled three times and threw two interceptions in a 26-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Los Angeles Chargers are the fourth team in NFL history to start 0-2 versus two teams that won three or fewer games the previous season.
Herbert is up to three fumbles, three interceptions, and has been sacked six times in those two losses.
As if their awful start isn’t bad enough, the Chargers schedule is about to get a lot more difficult on paper, beginning with a road trip across the country to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.
The Bills are a seven-point favourite at FanDuel.
While the Chargers are 0-2, LA’s other football team will be looking to avoid back-to-back upset losses of their own to kick off the season.
The Los Angeles Rams stumbled out of the gate with a loss to the rival San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
The Rams are still considered an obvious Super Bowl favourite at +600 at FanDuel, where no other team is shorter than +1000 to win it all.
Meanwhile, LA opened -7.5 for tonight’s home opener against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
That number has ticked down to Rams -6.5 at FanDuel.
Can LA bounce back with a win and cover at home?
Or will the Rams hype take another hit against a Giants’ side that is coming off a big win of its own against a division rival in Week 1?

Will Rams Bounce Back With Win Over Giants On Monday Night Football?
The stars will be out at SoFi Stadium tonight as the Rams return home to face the Giants in their home opener.
The reigning NFL regular season MVP Matthew Stafford is two touchdown passes away from tying Phillip Rivers for sixth on the all-time NFL leaderboard.
Aaron Donald will be back in a Rams uniform for the first time since 2024 after coming out of retirement.
However, LA could be without several key pieces tonight.
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett will miss at least four games after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and was played on the IR.
NFL Offensive Player of the Year contender Puka Nacua is questionable with a hip injury and is “trending the wrong way” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Rams entered the season as an obvious Super Bowl favourite.
However, LA is also arguably the most top-heavy team in the entire NFL, relying on star players on both sides of the football to carry them.
If Garrett, Nacua, wide receiver Jordan Whittington, and safety Kamren Kinchens are all out, it’s a much different team on paper.
The Rams have had plenty of time to rest and prepare since their opener on September 10th, but there’s no telling what kind of impact the travel had on veterans like their 38-year-old QB Stafford.
Meanwhile, the Giants have momentum on their side following a 28-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in John Harbaugh’s debut as head coach.
New York’s odds to make the playoffs were cut from +270 to +152 at FanDuel following the victory.
Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Malik Nabers put the Cowboys defence in a blender, hinting at their potential if all three players can stay healthy this season.
The Giants offence was able to maintain possession, keeping Dak Prescott and company off the field.
Meanwhile, Dennard Wilson’s defence held Dallas to 244 total yards, including 175 passing yards by Prescott.
The key to tonight’s contest will be their ability to execute the same game plan, moving efficiently on offence to keep it away from Stafford, while getting pressure on the reigning MVP when he does get the football.
The Giants held the Cowboys to a 2.2 per cent explosive play rate in Week 1 – the best mark in the entire NFL.
New York’s defence didn’t give up a single completion 20 or more yards downfield, while limiting Javonte Williams to 41 yards on 3.1 yards per carry.
The Giants should have an easier time limiting explosives against the Rams with Nacua limited or out.
Dart might not move the football as efficiently as Purdy, but if he can avoid turnovers, he should be able to do enough to at least keep this game close.

Unfortunately, if you missed it, that number has already moved to LA -6.5 at FanDuel.
Harbaugh’s conservative approach might burn him at some point, but I expect New York to take a very similar approach to the one we saw in Week 1, when they were able to control the clock and protect their defence.
I’d trust the Rams a lot more in this spot if they had Nacua, Whittington, Garrett, and Kinchens available.
With several key pieces sidelined, I’ll roll the dice and take the Giants to cover the 7.5.
I’ll also add two player props to my MNF card.
First up, I’ll lock in Devin Singletary 2+ receptions at +142.
Singletary was only on the field for 36.8 per cent of the Giants snaps in Week 1, compared to 60.3 per cent for Skattebo.
However, Singletary ran 17 routes versus 10 for Skattebo.
Singletary’s 50 per cent route participation led to a 13.8 per cent target rate that ranked third for New York behind Nabers and Isaiah Likely.
Singletary finished with four receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown in the win over Dallas.
Now he faces an LA defence that faced the fourth-most running back targets and gave up the ninth-most running back receptions in the NFL last season with an average of 4.6 per game against.
In Week 1, the Rams gave up six receptions for 25 yards to Christian McCaffrey and Kaelon Black.
Singletary only needs two receptions tonight at +142.
I’ll also sprinkle on Singletary 3+ receptions at +400.
Finally, I’ll add a Same Game Parlay with Dart 25+ rushing yards and Kyren Williams 2+ receptions at +100 odds.
Dart had 11 rushing attempts in the win over Dallas.
That’s important because it’s a clear signal the coaching staff has given him the green light to make plays with his legs, which is what makes him such a unique threat.
Dart has cleared 20+ rushing yards in 10 of 13 NFL starts.
Of course, that number might be even higher if he didn’t deal with concussion issues late last season.
Now that he’s healthy, I’ll trust him to get 25 or more against a defence that just gave up 29 versus Brock Purdy in Week 1.
Meanwhile, Williams has registered two or more receptions in seven straight games, including three for 24 yards against San Francisco in Week 1.
New York gave up five receptions for 31 yards to Cowboys running back Javonte Williams in Week 1.
I’ll trust Williams to extend his streak of 2+ receptions.
Hopefully, we can finish off Week 2 on a high note.
