Game 4 of the PWHL Walter Cup Final goes Wednesday night with the Montreal Victoire leading the Ottawa Charge 2-1 and -500 favourites to win the title.
Montreal is a slight -120 favourite to end the series in Game 4, but if history repeats itself, the Victoire might need more than the 60 minutes of regulation hockey to get the win tonight.
The first two games of this series needed overtime, which continued a remarkable run of six consecutive PWHL Finals games reaching an extra frame.
However, a 2-1 Game 3 win in regulation for Montreal broke that streak, becoming the first PWHL Championship game since 2024 to not reach OT.
Here is a look at the game logs for that streak.
| Year | Game | Score | OT? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 1 | 2-1 Charge | Yes |
| 2025 | 2 | 2-1 Frost | Yes |
| 2025 | 3 | 2-1 Frost | Yes |
| 2025 | 4 | 2-1 Frost | Yes |
| 2026 | 1 | 3-2 Victoire | Yes |
| 2026 | 2 | 2-1 Victoire | Yes |
| 2026 | 3 | 2-1 Charge | No |
Since the start of the PWHL there have been 12 games played in the final round of the playoffs with seven of them reaching overtime.
Tonight, overtime is priced at +250, a number that comes with an implied probability of 28.57 per cent.
