The ATP and WTA are back in Canada with some of the game’s best in Toronto and Montreal headlining the top of the oddsboard.
Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime enters the event in Montreal with the second-shortest odds at +1000. Entering this event as the number two seed, Auger-Aliassime becomes the first Canadian man to enter this Masters 1000 event as a top-2 seed in the Open Era.
After reaching the 2022 final in Montreal, the Canadian has lost in the Round of 64 every year in this event since.
World No. 3 Alex Zverev is the favourite, entering at +260. On the season, the 29-year-old is 44-11 with his lone title coming at Roland Garros, the first Grand Slam title of his career.

Meanwhile, the field in Toronto is headlined by World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka as she enters at +260 to win her fourth title of the year.
Last year, Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko beat Naomi Osaka in the final to win the first WTA Title of her career. This year she will miss the event due to a knee injury.
Leylah Annie Fernandez, at 100-1, enters the event as the Canadian with the best odds to win.

Dr. Tennis’ ATP Montreal Best Bet

It’s been a while since we’ve dusted off the Dr. Tennis gimmick, but bring tennis to my country and I’m going to watch / wager on it.
For those unfamiliar with Dr. Tennis, much like The Wizard of Oz, this doctor (me) is a fraud. But even a broken clock is right a few times a day, so let’s see if it’s that time of day.
In the midst of a breakout season, Flavio Cobolli is a noteworthy longshot at this week’s tournament to keep an eye on.
The Italian has a favourable draw, avoiding four of the top five betting favourites, with the only top-five player in his half of the bracket being Auger-Aliassime.
And he enters this final stretch of the season motivated to finish strong.
“I love playing here,” Cobolli said earlier this week. “I like the American swing, and I think I have every chance to do well. This is my goal, but I have to think game by game to stay calm.
“The ATP Finals are the goal this year, and we are working to achieve this result. It must not be a stretch, but a natural thing... I have to stay calm; the season is still long. We still need many results to achieve this goal, but I hope it will come true.”
Cobolli currently is fourth on the list for points to make the ATP Finals. However, with the points as tight as they are, a big week in Toronto could go a long way in securing his spot in the event.
