The 29-year-old wideout is coming off the best season of his career, posting 65 catches for 907 yards and three touchdowns with the Toronto Argonauts last season.
The Mississauga, Ont. native spent five seasons with the Argos after being drafted second overall in the 2020 CFL Draft. Brissett is a two-time Grey Cup champion, including claiming Most Valuable Canadian in the big game in 2024.
Feb.1 marked the opening of the CFL’s Free Agency Communication Window, in which teams can openly speak with any clubs’ pending free agents until Feb.8 at 12 p.m. ET.
In the seven-day window, teams can make a formal offer to any pending free agent. That offer must be registered with the CFL office and the CFLPA. Offers made in the window are considered binding and cannot be rescinded.
When the window closes on Feb.8, pending free agents move into an exclusive 48-hour communication window with the teams that hold their present contracts. At that time, every club in the league will be provided with the registered offers that the pending free agents have received.
No reported agreements can become official until free agency officially opens on Feb.10 at 12 p.m. ET.
