The Ontario Hockey League’s Brantford Bulldogs announced on Friday that Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2026 inductee Brian Burke has joined the front office as senior hockey operations advisor.
Burke has worked extensively in NHL front offices in a variety of roles, including winning a Stanley Cup title in 2007 as executive VP and general manager of the Anaheim Ducks.
He also had stints as GM with the Hartford Whalers (1987-1992) and Vancouver Canucks (1999-2004), was president and GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs (2009-13) and served as president of hockey operations with the Calgary Flames (2013-19) and Pittsburgh Penguins (2020-23).
Burke also was the GM for Team USA in 2010 as the Americans took home silver at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and previously worked as director of hockey operations for the National Hockey League for six years (1993-99).
The Bulldogs also announced that Gary Roberts has been promoted to vice president of hockey operations.
Roberts joined Brantford prior to the 2025-26 season as a senior advisor and director of player development.
As a player, Roberts played 1,225 games in the NHL, scoring 438 goals with 909 points, split between the Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, Penguins and Tampa Bay Lightning.
He helped the Flames win the Stanley Cup in 1989 and as a junior player, he won two Memorial Cup titles.
