Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Daxon Rudolph was suspended one-game for cross-checking and will miss Game 3 of the Western Hockey League Championship Series on Tuesday.
Rudolph, 18, was handed a five- minute major penalty and a game misconduct for cross-checking Everett Silvertips forward Carter Bear in the head/neck area in the dying minutes of the Silvertips’ 6-2 victory in Game 2.
The 6-foot-2, right-shot defenceman leads the WHL in playoff scoring with nine goals and 26 points in 17 playoff games. He also finished third among WHL defencemen in regular season scoring with 28 goals and 78 points in 68 games.
Rudolph is expected to be a high selection at the 2026 NHL Draft in Buffalo on June 26. He is ranked No. 8 on TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button’s March draft list.
Everett and Prince Albert are locked in a 1-1 series in the WHL final with the series shifting to the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert for Game 3 on Tuesday.
The series features the top two teams in the WHL’s regular season with the Silvertips finishing with a 57-8-3 record followed closely by the Raiders with a 52-10-6 record.
