Six-time Brier champion Geoff Walker is headed to Ogden, Utah for the World Men’s Curling Championship as the alternate for Canada’s Team Matt Dunstone.
The 30-year-old Dunstone, alongside his Manitoba-based rink of third Colton Lott, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden, won his first Montana’s Brier earlier this month in St. John’s, Nfld., beating Alberta’s Team Kevin Koe in the final, 6-3.

Jacob Horgan, 25, was the alternate for Team Dunstone at the Brier, but is unable to attend the men’s worlds as he’ll be competing in the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Surrey, B.C., alongside partner Kira Brunton from March 21-27.
The World Men’s Curling Championship runs March 27-April 4 at the Ice Sheet at Ogden, the host venue for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Walker, 40, is one of the most accomplished leads in curling history, winning six Brier Tankards, a world curling title in 2017 and a bronze medal at the 2022 Olympics over a 15-year run with Brad Gushue in Newfoundland and Labrador.
With Gushue now retired, Walker has already announced he’ll curl with Brendan Bottcher, Tanner Horgan and Jacob Horgan in his home province of Alberta next season.
The Horgan brothers have played the past two seasons with Team John Epping in Sudbury, Ont. Jacob Horgan will move to Alberta ahead of the 2026-27 season with Team Bottcher.
