Nick Taylor shot an even-par 72 on Friday, Corey Conners carded a 1-over 73 and both Canadians will play on the weekend after making the cut at the 2026 Masters.
Taylor sat at 1-under after an opening-round 71, but had a rough start on Friday with back-to-back bogeys on the third and fourth holes to move to 1-over for the tournament.
The Abbotsford, B.C. native pulled a shot back on the par-5 eighth, reaching the green in two and then converting on a short birdie putt.
Taylor got back into the red numbers with a great tee shot on the 12th, which led to a tap-in birdie.
The 37-year-old would improve that score to 2-under, gaining another shot on the 15th, before ultimately giving it back on the 18th hole, to finish at 1-under after 36 holes.
Conners, meanwhile, finished right on the projected cut line Friday as he sits at 4-over after two rounds.
The Listowel, Ont. native was 1-under on the day through 16, but made bogey on his final two holes to give him three blemishes on the day. He also made two birdies and 13 pars.
He’s been solid throughout his Masters career, making cuts in six of his eight starts and finishing as high as a tie for sixth in 2022.
Meanwhile, 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir was solid on Friday, finishing with a 1-over 73. He’ll miss the cut after a 9-over opening round that put him in a deep hole.
Weir made three birdies with two bogeys and one double bogey on Friday en route to one of his best rounds at Augusta in years.
