Opening-round co-leader Corey Pereira (Sacramento, California) holds a one-shot lead, with the second round suspended due to lightning at the Mexico Championship presented by Scotia Wealth Management.

At 10-under through 12 holes, Pereira sits just ahead of clubhouse leader and current PGA TOUR Americas points list No. 1 Patrick Flavin (Highwood, Illinois) and Drew Doyle(Louisville, Kentucky). Flavin fired a second-round-best 8-under 63 earlier in the day to move to 9-under 133, while Doyle has three holes remaining to play.

Bogey-free through 36 holes, Omar Morales (Puebla, Mexico) is tied for fourth at 8-under 134. The former UCLA Bruin, No. 9 in last year’s PGA TOUR University ranking, followed an opening-round 68 with a 66 to lead the nine Mexican players in the field at Club de Golf La Hacienda.

The second round was suspended due to lightning at 5:55 p.m. local time, and play was called for the day half an hour later. With 53 players yet to complete the round, play will resume Saturday at 7:30 a.m.

Following the cut (low 60 and ties), third-round tee times will begin at approximately 9:45 a.m. off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees in threesomes. The final tee time is scheduled for approximately 11:45 a.m.
