The 2026 PGA Tour season comes to an end with this week’s Tour Championship, where the top golfers on the season-long points list battle it out for the FedEx Cup and a $10 million prize.

It’ll be one of golf’s most exclusive fields this week at East Lake Golf Club, located just outside Atlanta. In attendance are golf’s biggest stars, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, the defending FedEx Cup champion in Tommy Fleetwood, six first-timers and two PGA Tour rookies. The top 30 players in FedEx Cup points battle for a share of the $40 million purse – the largest of the season – as well as Tour’s championship trophy.
In the past, players came into East Lake with a shot advantage based on where they sat in the standings. The leader in FedEx Cup standings would start the week at 10-under par, with the No. 2 player two shots back at 8-under, No. 3 at 7-under, No. 4 at 6-under, and so on.
But the Tour nixed starting strokes for last year’s Tour Championship and opted for the entire field to have a conventional even-par start, saying the new format would remove confusion and make things more climactic for golf fans.
Last year, Fleetwood came into East Lake without a PGA Tour victory on his resume in 163 starts despite an incredibly successful career that included seven DP World Tour wins andmore than$33 million in career prize money.But Fleetwood finally broke through, overcoming years of close calls and heartbreaking finishes.
“It’s easy for anybody to say that they are resilient, that they bounce back, that they have fight,” Fleetwood said after last year’s win. “It’s different when you actually have to prove it.”
Fleetwood is the ninth-ranked golfer in this week’s field.
Scheffler – the top-ranked player and the betting favourite at East Lake – won the St. Jude Championship two weekends ago in Memphis by a whopping eight shots. It was just his second win of this year’s Tour season, but it reminded the golf world how dominant Scheffler can be when he has his A-game.
This past week was a bit of a different story. Scheffler still finished 7-under in a tie for 12th, but revealed after the final round he battled hand, foot and mouth disease throughout the week and even had trouble gripping his clubs at the start of the tournament. He even went as far to say he maybe shouldn’t have played.
“If I was smarter maybe I would have pulled out, but I was playing so good I felt like if I could knock it out quickly and just get through the first couple rounds I would still have a chance,” the 30-year-old said.
However, he did indicate he’s expecting to be in better shape this week.
“Feel like I’m starting to heal up. My throat is still bugging me pretty good. But my hands feel normal today.”
Scheffler was the 2024 FedEx Cup winner and used his 10-under start to build a score of 30-under by the end of his final round, winning by four shots.

How to watch the Tour Championship on TSN, TSN Premium
You can stream the Tour Championship all week long with a subscription to TSN Premium, featuring wall-to-wall coverage each day.
Things tee off Thursday morning with Main Feed action at 11am ET/8am PT followed by Featured Groups at 11:45am ET/8:45am PT on TSN Premium. Coverage will follow the same schedule on Friday with additional Featured Group action beginning at 1pm ET/10am PT.
On the weekend, Main Feed and Featured Group action begins at 12:15pm PT/9:15am PT Saturday with Featured Hole coverage at 2:15pm ET/11:15am PT. Network coverage will then be available beginning at 2:30pm ET/11:30am PT on TSN3, TSN.ca and the TSN App.
