Joey Savoie (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) will carry a two-stroke lead into the final round at the Kia Open de Ecuador presentado por Diners Club after carding a bogey-free 67 Saturday at Quito Tenis & Golf Club in Ecuador.

This week is Savoie’s 36th career start on PGA TOUR Americas and 74th as a pro in PGA TOUR-sanctioned competition, dating to his pro debut in 2020. He has seven career top-10s on PGA TOUR Americas, including at T8 last month at the 71st ECP Brazil Open, and currently ranks No. 17 on the season-long points list.

Savoie is looking to become the fifth Canadian to win on PGA TOUR Americas, joining Matthew Anderson (2024 ECP Brazil Open), Stuart Macdonald (2024 Diners Club Peru Open), A.J. Ewart (2024 Elk Ridge Saskatchewan Open) and Drew Nesbitt (2025 Digital Commerce Group Open).

As an amateur, Savoie played three seasons at Division-II Saint Leo University before transferring to Middle Tennessee State for his senior season (2016-17), where he earned First Team All-Conference USA honors and was teammates with PGA TOUR Americas member Marcus Byrd.

In 2018, he represented Canada at the World Amateur Team Championships, competed in the RBC Canadian Open, and won the Tennessee State Open – his last victory ranked by WAGR or OWGR. These accomplishments helped him earn 2018 Canadian Amateur Golfer of the Year honors.

Mason Williams (Bridgeport, West Virginia) is second at 16-under after carding a 9-under 63 Saturday, while Kieron van Wyk (Ruimsig, South Africa) is T3 at 14-under after shooting 63, as well. Grant Booth (Sydney, Australia) and Thomas Ponder (Dothan, Alabama) round out the trio of players tied for third at 14-under.

Final-round tee times will run from 8-9:50 a.m. local time, with Savoie, Williams and van Wyk playing in the final threesome.
