Lukes has been on the shelf with a hamstring strain in his left leg since April 24. He had begun to run the bases prior to being sent to Dunedin on a rehab assignment.
He is slashing .250/.286/.327 with zero home runs and eight RBI in 20 games so far this season.
Schneider, 27, is hitting just .127 in 89 plate appearances this season, having racked up just nine hits in 38 games. However, he did walk 17 times and produced a .127/.295/.211 slash line.
He got on base at a career-high .361 clip last season but has been unable to build on that in 2026.
The Blue Jays (25-28) sit third in the American League East 10.5 games back of the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays and 6.0 back of the second place New York Yankees.
