Addison Barger’s return to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup has been delayed by a new injury.
Currently rehabbing an elbow injury, Barger incurred a stress reaction in his back and will be shut down for a couple of weeks, the team announced on Monday.
Barger, 26, has been limited to only nine games this season with various injuries. An ankle injury kept him out of the lineup from early April until early May. He returned for one game before the elbow injury that has kept him out of the lineup since May 9.
Barger had one hit in 22 at-bats this season, his third in the big leagues.
