Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk and reliever Yimi Garcia both made rehab appearances with the team’s Single-A affiliate in Dunedin on Wednesday night.
Kirk led off the third inning with a solo homer in his second plate appearance after drawing a walk in the bottom of the first.
The 27-year-old, who was in the third spot in the lineup as the Designated Hitter, finished the day 1-for-2 with a walk.
Kirk has been out of the Blue Jays lineup since April 3 after suffering a fractured thumb.
In five games this season, Kirk has a homer and two RBIs with a .150 average.
The Tijuana, Mexico native posted a .282 average with 15 home runs and 76 RBIs in 2025 as he was named an All-Star for the second time in his MLB career.
Garcia made his appearance on Wednesday in the seventh inning when he relieved starter Troy Guthrie and threw a scoreless frame striking out one and walking one.
The 35-year-old threw 14 pitches, seven for strikes, in his rehab outing.
The Dominican Republic native has not appeared for the Blue Jays in 2026 and last pitched for the team in July of last year.
Garcia underwent a cleanup procedure on his right elbow last September.
