The Toronto Blue Jays are calling up left-handed hitting slugger Sean Keys from the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, according to MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson.
The 23-year-old, who can play both first and third base, has produced 21 home runs split between the Bisons (seven homers in 18 games) and the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats (14 homers in 49 games) over 67 total games in 2026.
He also owns a .284 battling average and 54 RBIs alongside a 1.028 OPS.
Keys hit 19 homers in 119 games with the Single-A Vancouver Canadians last season.
Keys was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 MLB Draft and is currently listed as the Jays’ 14th best prospect.
The Blue Jays could use some help from a power perspective as they’ve hit just 82 home runs in 81 games, eighth worst in the Majors.
Adam Macko Returns
Left-handed pitcher Adam Macko was recalled from Tripe-A Buffalo on Friday.
In a corresponding move, right-handed reliever Simeon Woods Richardson was designated for assignment.
The 25-year-old Canadian looked sharp in 12 appearances, including one start, with the Jays earlier this season, posting a 1.50 ERA and a 1.083 WHIP with 12 strikeouts and two walks over 12 innings pitched.
Macko, who was on Canada’s World Baseball Classic team in March, has a 4.57 ERA over 17 games with Buffalo this season.
Woods Richardson, 25, was acquired from the Minnesota Twins in early June for cash considerations after he was designated for assignment by Minnesota.
Over three games in Toronto, Woods Richardson didn’t allow a run, but allowed seven walks over 10 innings of work.
Entering Friday’s game against the visiting Texas Rangers, the Blue Jays own a 39-42 record amid a three-game losing streak and are tied with three other teams for the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
