The Milwaukee Brewers are acquiring Canadian catcher Bo Naylor and reliever Codi Heuer from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for reliever Craig Yoho and outfielder Blake Perkins, it was announced Saturday morning.
Naylor, 26, was hitting .143 with two home runs and seven RBI in 28 games with the Guardians this season.
Naylor, a native of Mississauga, Ont., has not played in the major leagues since May as he has struggled at the plate. In 45 games with Cleveland’s Triple-A affiliate, Naylor has recorded seven homers and 24 RBI while putting up a .225/.344/.438 slash line.
In 346 MLB games, Naylor has hit 40 homers with 125 RBI, 12 stolen bases, and 122 runs scored with a .651 on-base plus slugging.
Yoho, 26, has tossed 20 innings across 15 appearances with the Brewers this season, posting a 3.15 ERA and 18 strikeouts over 20.0 innings. The right-hander has a career 4.40 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 28.2 major-league innings.
Perkins, 29, has played 55 games with the Brewers in 2026, slashing .157/.250/.258 with one home run and 11 RBI.
Heuer, 30, has a 4.66 ERA in 9.2 innings with Cleveland this season.
