Report: Yarbrough returns to Yankees on one-year deal

Ryan Yarbrough is staying with the New York Yankees.

Robert Murray reports the 33-year-old lefty has signed a one-year deal to remain with the team.

A native of Austin, Yarbrough appeared in 19 games for the Yankees last season. He was 3-1 with a 4.36 earned run average and WHIP of 1.203 in 64.0 innings pitched across 19 appearances, including eight starts. He struck out 55 batters and walked 19.

Originally taken in the fourth round of the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft out of Old Dominion, Yarbrough heads into his ninth big league season. He previously spent time with the Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays with whom he spent the first five seasons of his career.

In 215 career appearances, Yarbrough is 56-41 with a 4.22 ERA and 1.185 WHIP over 832.0 IP.
