Yesavage to start for Blue Jays in Game 6 of ALCS

Published:

Trey Yesavage will get the ball for the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, John Schneider announced Friday.

The best-of-seven series is currently tied at 2-2, with the Blue Jays battling back to even the ALCS after dropping the first two games at home against the Seattle Mariners.

Yesavage, 22, will make his third start of the 2025 postseason on Sunday, just six days after surrendering five earned runs, four hits and three walks over 4.0 innings pitched in Game 2 against the Mariners.

In his first career postseason appearance, Yesavage dominated the New York Yankees to the tune of 5.1 innings of no-hit ball while racking up a franchise postseason-record 11 strikeouts in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.

The Pottstown, Penn. native compiled a 3.21 earned-run average with 16 strikeouts in 14.0 innings pitched in three regular-season starts after making his major-league debut on Sept. 15.

Toronto is two wins away from their first World Series appearance since 1993.

Kevin Gausman gets the ball for the Jays in Game 5 against Bryce Miller before the series shifts back to Toronto.
