Jordan Clarkson isn’t ready to depart the NBA champions.
His agent Rich Paul tells ESPN’s Shams Charania that the veteran guard is staying with the New York Knicks on a one-year, $3.9 million deal.
The 34-year-old Clarkson heads into his 13th NBA season. He appeared in 72 games for the Knicks last season, averaging 8.6 points on .451 shooting with 1.8 boards and 1.3 assists over 17.8 minutes a night. His playing time was the lowest of his career. Clarkson appeared in all 18 of the team’s playoff contests this past spring.
Originally taken with the 46th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft out of Mizzou, Clarkson has appeared in 825 career games with the Knicks, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. He won Sixth Man of the Year in 2021 as a member of the Jazz.
A native of Tampa, Clarkson has averaged 15.3 points, 3.2 boards and 2.8 assists over 26.8 minutes a night for his career.
