Kawhi Leonard is heading to the All-Star Game after all.
The NBA announced Tuesday evening that the Los Angeles Clippers star is being added to the U.S. player pool by commissioner Adam Silver for next week’s game at his home arena.
After the section of the initial 24 All-Stars, Leonard is being added to bring the U.S. player pool to 16, which is the minimum required under the game’s new format.
New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns will now play for Team World in the 2026 All-Star Game.
Leonard is averaging a career-high in points (27.6) and shooting 49.7 per cent from the field in 36 games this season. He’s also leading the league at 2.1 steals per game.
This will be Leonard’s seventh All-Star nod over the course of his 14-year career.
