Jonas Valanciunas is going home.

After a 14-year career in the NBA, the centre is signing a two-year contract with Lithuania’s Zalgiris Kaunas.

Valanciunas, a native of Utena, Lithuania, spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors after the Canadian franchise selected him fifth overall in the 2011 NBA Draft.

The 34-year-old spent last season with the Denver Nuggets, averaging 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 65 games.

During his time in Toronto, Valanciunas averaged 11.8 points and 8.4 rebounds over 470 games.

He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies at the 2019 trade deadline in a deal that saw Marc Gasol join the Raptors, who later became a key player during their run to winning their first NBA championship in franchise history.

Over 1,002 career games with the Raptors, Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings and Nuggets, Valanciunas averaged 12.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists

Valanciunas appeared in 62 career playoff games, including 43 with the Raptors.
