DJ Lagway is headed to the Big 12.

On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett reports the former Florida quarterback is transferring to Baylor.

Lagway’s father, Derek Lagway Sr., played at Baylor as a running back.

A native of Willis, TX, Lagway is set to enter his junior year in 2026. He appeared in 12 games for the Gators last season where he struggled with takeaways. Lagway threw for 2,264 yards on 213-for-337 passing with 16 touchdowns and an SEC-high 14 interceptions.

The Gators fired head coach in mid-October with the team sitting at 3-4. The team finished the season at 4-8, bowl ineligible for the second time in three years.

Former Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall will coach the Gators in 2026.

The Bears went 5-7 in 2025, also missing out on bowl season. Dave Aranda is set to return as head coach for a sixth season in 2026.
