Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Williams injured his right hamstring late in Chicago's 9-3 loss to the Vikings in Week 2. He did not practice ahead of the Eagles game and is considered week-to-week.
Williams has not missed a start since being drafted by the Bears with the first overall pick in 2024.
Meanwhile, Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent was back on the practice field Saturday in full capacity. While he remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, Bagent was able to participate in the Bears' final practice and is listed as questionable on the team's injury report.
Bagent was not back at Halas Hall until Friday as he progressed through the early phases of the NFL's five-phase protocol. He participated in meetings on Friday and was able to practice Saturday.
"I mean we've got a sense that we want to get him healthy first and foremost," coach Ben Johnson said. "That was his No. 1 priority. And then since it's progressed along, he was able to be in meetings yesterday and now he's in practice today, and so he's right on track to be right where he needs to be. And I think mentally he's going to be in a good spot for what we're asking to do."
Johnson said the Bears are still determining their quarterback depth chart against the Eagles, including who will start. Case Keenum, the Bears' third-string quarterback, has participated all three days in practice and could start his first regular-season game since Dec. 2024.
"There's a different skill set, obviously," Johnson said. "One guy's a little bit more mobile than the other, and yet both are very cerebral players. I know they'll be mentally prepared for the game, and we'll see what it looks like. But there's a reason why Tyson was the backup as we ended camp, and we felt good about who he is as a player and what he can bring to the table to this offense.
"And so, [I] would be excited to get him out there as well. So I think we've got a lot of good choices. We'll come together as a staff and make sure we're on the same page."
Additionally, the Bears' kicking battery is at full strength ahead of Monday night. Kicker Cairo Santos, who was a nonparticipant Thursday and Friday with a right hip injury, practiced in full Saturday. He does not carry an injury designation.
"We felt good about where he was at," Johnson said. "Everybody's a little bit different. We always try to make sure we're prepared and have contingency plans if things go a little bit sideways, but that's a spot that we felt pretty good about."
After being removed from the injury report for the first time since being activated from the PUP list in mid-August, left tackle Ozzy Trapilo was a full participant in every practice this week but won't make his return against the Eagles.
