Carson Beck is set for his first professional start.
Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur announced Tuesday that the rookie quarterback will get the start in Thursday night’s Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers in Canton, OH.
The annual contest is the kick-off to the NFL’s exhibition season.
Beck, 24, was the 65th overall selection of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Miami. The Jacksonville native finished his collegiate career with the Hurricanes after five years at Georgia where he won two National Championships.
In 55 NCAA games, Beck threw for 11,725 yards on 966-for-1,390 passing with 88 touchdowns to 32 interceptions.
Beck is expected to compete with Gardner Minshew and Kedon Slovis for the backup role to Jacoby Brissett.
The Cardinals open up their 2026 season on Sept. 13 with a visit to the Los Angeles Chargers.
