This week we spotlight two running backs that never have any trouble finding the end zone and might just run right over your favourite defender for their next touchdown.
Derrick Henry – Baltimore Ravens vs. New Orleans Saints – 1pm
The opening week of the 2026 NFL season tied the record for most points scored in Week 1 of the season during the Super Bowl era with an impressive 791 points put up on the board.
The tally tied the mark set in the first week of the 2012 season.
Unsurprisingly, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry was one of the players responsible for that offensive outburst.
Henry opened the season with a 144-yard, three-touchdown performance that got the Ravens off to a winning start with a 41-23 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
The 32-year-old averaged six yards a carry over his 24 touches and had a long run of 32 yards, which he took to the house in the second quarter for his second touchdown of the game.
The Florida native did not ease into things last year either, racking up 169 yards and two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills to open the 2025 campaign on his way to a 1,595-yard output and a second consecutive 16 rushing TD season.
Henry has been a juggernaut since his breakout season in 2018 as a member of the Tennessee Titans, and he is showing no signs of slowing down now in his third campaign with the Ravens.

Ashton Jeanty – Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Chargers – 4:05pm
Another player whose Week 1 production went a long way to helping equal the NFL opening-week points record is Las Vegas Raiders sophomore running back Ashton Jeanty.
Jeanty put his entire skill set on display to help the Raiders earn a 27-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins and get off to a 1-0 start.
The 22-year-old carried the ball 23 times for 102 yards, averaging 4.43 yards a carry.
He also caught six passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns, doing all his scoring damage through the passing game.
Jeanty ended the game as both the Raiders leading rusher and leading receiver and was responsible for more than half of the team’s 290 yards of offence as he dominated in their opener.
It was the third time the Jacksonville native rushed for over 100 yards, and the second time he caught two touchdown passes in a game.
