OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- A day after two of the Baltimore Ravens' top wide receivers were injured in a 41-23 season-opening win at the Indianapolis Colts, coach Jesse Minter indicated that Zay Flowers is considered day-to-day after aggravating his left hamstring and that Ja'Kobi Lane could be out for a longer period with a wrist injury.
Flowers, who is Lamar Jackson's favorite target, grabbed his left hamstring after being tackled with 5½ minutes left in the first half and didn't play in the second half. After initially being ruled questionable to return, Flowers remained suited up for most of the second half, pacing on the sideline with a slight limp.
Before leaving the game, Flowers had totaled 150 yards receiving, the most by a player in the first half in three years. He has proved durable in his four-year career, missing three games.
"I feel pretty good about where that's at," Minter said. "We'll see how the week goes though there."
Flowers first hurt his hamstring during the joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings on Aug. 20 and sat out for two weeks. He then practiced all last week and was a full participant in Friday's session, which led to him not receiving an injury designation for the season opener.
Asked if Flowers has to manage this injury all season, Minter said: "You want to make sure that it's not something you're dealing with for 17, 18 weeks. And so that's all things that as the day-to-day things we'll look at and make sure we're putting Zay in the best position."
Lane, a promising rookie third-round pick who is the team's No. 3 wide receiver, injured a wrist in the first half and didn't play after halftime. He finished with one catch for 11 yards but had a 4-yard touchdown in the second quarter negated by a holding penalty.
Sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo on Sunday night that the initial diagnosis was Lane fractured the wrist.
"We're getting some more things looked at right now and talking to different people," Minter said.
Baltimore's only healthy receivers on the 53-man roster are LaJohntay Wester, who has primarily been a punt returner, and Elijah Sarratt, a rookie fourth-round pick who was a healthy scratch in Week 1. The Ravens also have Devontez Walker, who has been dealing with a groin injury, and Chris Moore, who was elevated off the practice squad Sunday and caught a 53-yard pass from Jackson in the fourth quarter.
Minter said there is potential to add a free agent wide receiver this week but added that this is an opportunity for Walker and Sarratt to be active Sunday.
"I've got a lot of confidence in those guys," Minter said. "Those guys have had a ton of reps within our offense. And then we'll look at all options obviously to figure out what's best."
