PHILADELPHIA -- The Eagles are expected to sign former Pro Bowl defensive back Kenny Moore II to the practice squad, according to sources.
The plan is for him to play nickel and safety for the Eagles, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Moore, 31, appeared in 14 games for the Indianapolis Colts last season, posting 51 tackles, 6 passes defensed, 1.5 sacks and an interception that he returned for a touchdown.
The Colts released Moore on May 7 after first trying to trade him at his request. Before he was released, Moore was in line to earn $10 million for the 2026 season.
Moore adds a veteran presence and position versatility to a defensive back group that has been dealing with some injuries. Cooper DeJean is playing through calf and abdomen injuries. Safety Andrew Mukuba played against the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 despite being listed as questionable because of a knee injury.
There is also a level of familiarity here, as coach Nick Sirianni knows Moore well from their time together in Indianapolis. The move comes as the Eagles are losing practice squad CB Robert Longerbeam to another team, a league source said.
Moore, who was a Pro Bowl selection in 2021, joined the Colts as a waiver claim in 2017 and flourished a year later as one of the top nickel cornerbacks in the NFL. He started 111 games for Indianapolis, recording 21 interceptions, 11.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.
He also is a three-time Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee (2021, 2024 and 2025) for his well-documented community work in the Indianapolis area.
