Cam Jordan’s time with the New Orleans Saints isn’t over just yet.
The team and the 36-year-old defensive end are finalizing a one-year, incentive-laden contract for the eight-time Pro Bowler to return for a 16th season, ESPN and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.
Jordan appeared in all 17 games a season ago for the Saints. He recorded 47 tackles, two forced fumbles and 10.5 sacks. It was Jordan’s highest sack total in four years.
Originally taken with the 24th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Cal, Jordan has appeared in all 243 games over his Saints tenure. He’s recorded 763 tackles, three interceptions, 17 forced fumbles and 132.0 sacks. His sack total is 22nd all-time and first among players currently under contract.
The Saints open their preseason on Aug. 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars before making their regular-season bow on Sept. 13 at the Detroit Lions. New Orleans has not made the playoffs since 2020.
