Quarterback Kyler Murray has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced on Thursday.
The former Arizona Cardinals QB is owed $36.8 million after being cut by his former team and will join the Vikings on a one-year deal for the veteran league minimum, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Murray, 28, appeared in just five games last season due to a foot injury that ended his season. The Cardinals went 2-3 in his starts where Murray threw for 962 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. He also added 173 rushing yards and another touchdown on the ground.
Over his seven-year NFL career, the 2019 first overall pick has compiled 20,460 passing yards, 121 touchdowns, and 60 interceptions while rushing for 3,193 yards and 32 touchdowns. He helped the Cardinals reach the playoffs in 2021, where they were eliminated in the Wild Card round by the Los Angeles Rams.
Murray posted the following statement on social media after he was released by the Cardinals:
“To everyone that supported me and showed kindness to my family and I during my time in AZ, from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” the Bedford, TX native wrote. “I wanted nothing more than to be the one to end the 77 year drought for this organization, I am sorry I failed us. I wish this community and my brothers nothing but the best. I am no stranger to adversity, I am prepared for whatever’s next. I trust in God and my work ethic. I truly believe my best ball is in front of me and I look forward to proving it. Godspeed.”
