Giants WR Austin out for season with torn ACL; Bucs rookie Bain dealing with AC sprain

Giants wide receiver Calvin Austin III won't play this season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee while running a route at practice on Tuesday. Buccaneers rookie pass rusher Rueben Bain Jr. suffered an AC sprain, but it is said to be "nothing serious," and he is expected to be ready for Week 1. Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. will not play in Friday's preseason finale against the Dolphins as he continues to recover from left knee surgery. Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase sat out practice Wednesday for precautionary reasons after hyperextending his knee during Tuesday's session.
