The Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to a trade to acquire forward Conor Garland from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a 2028 second-round pick and a third-round draft pick in 2026, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.
Garland inked a six-year, $36 million contract extension with the Canucks back on July 1, which kicks in next season. He carries a $4.95 million cap hit this year in the final season of his previous deal.
Columbus currently sits one point behind the Boston Bruins for the second Wild Card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The 29-year-old Garland has seven goals and 19 assists over 50 games for the last-place Canucks in 2025-26, his sixth season in Vancouver and ninth in the NHL.
Drafted 123rd overall by the Arizona Coyotes, Garland has 129 goals and 317 points in 535 career games split between the Coyotes and Canucks.
His best season came during the 2021-22 campaign when he registered 19 goals and 52 points in 77 games with the Canucks.
The Scituate, Mass., native has represented the United States three times at the World Hockey Championships, winning gold in 2025 and bronze in 2021.
