The Montreal Canadiens are loaning forward Vinzenz Rohrer to Swiss National League club EV Zug for the 2026-27 season, it was announced Sunday morning.
He signed his three-year, entry-level deal with the Habs last June.
Rohrer is a former third-round pick (No. 75 overall) of Montreal from the 2022 NHL Draft. He’s spent most of his time playing in Switzerland with Zurich SC but got into one game with the AHL’s Laval Rocket last season, recording a goal and an assist.
The 21-year-old native of Feldkirch, Austria had four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 41 games last season for Zurich. He had 15 goals and 25 points in 52 games the season before.
Rohrer also played two seasons with the OHL’s Ottawa 67s, where he scored 44 goals with 97 points in 118 games from 2021 to 2023.
